Discourse plugins
Unlike some platforms like Nextcloud, Discourse doesn't support installing plugins through the web interface. Plugin installation requires server-level configuration changes.
As part of our managed hosting service, we handle all server-level modifications for you at no additional cost. This includes installing, configuring, updating, and removing plugins.
To request a plugin installation, contact our support team and include:
- The name of the plugin
- A link to the plugin's repository or documentation (if available)
- Any specific configuration requirements
You have platform admin status on your Discourse instance, giving you full control over site settings, user management, themes, and content moderation. For tasks that require server access, like plugin installation, we handle those as part of your service at no additional charge. We consider the inability to install plugins through the web interface to be a limitation of the software itself, not a premium service.
